Compumag 2021 Cancun

The 23rd International Conference on the Computation of Electromagnetic Fields COMPUMAG was held from the 16th to 20th January 2022 as a virtual event. We are very grateful to Professor Marco Arjona, the General Chairman, and his team for organising the meeting. It was quite a challenge to convert what was originally envisaged as a face-to-face meeting into a virtual event. The SCOOCS online events platform turned out to be a perfect choice and the participants enjoyed the opportunity for networking and interactive discussions.

Originally, there were 403 digests submitted which were considered by the Editorial Board consisting of 29 Track Chairs and 199 Reviewers. 325 papers were accepted and 286 eventually presented in oral and poster sessions. The chart below shows the number of accepted digests by country.

Overall 282 participants registered for the conference. There were 8 oral and 16 poster sessions. To facilitate informal discussions ‘Networking tables’ were provided. Access to the SCOOCS platform will be available to registered participants until the 20th April 2022.

According to Articles VI/3 and VI/5 of our Constitution the term for new Board members is six years and will begin on the first day of January in the year following the election (1st January 2017 in this case); however, the existing Officers will remain in their posts until the end of the first new Board meeting, when the election of the new Officers will take place. I would like to express my thanks all members who participated in the elections as candidates and voters and I wish the new Board every success in pursuing the aims and objectives of the International Compumag Society.
